Sony Ericsson's TM506 for T-Mobile spied in FCC pages
We normally throw FCC goodness your way on Friday, but on occasion we can't help spilling the beans when they do. Today's treat seems to be a Sony Ericsson handset called the TM506, which, from outward appearances looks to be a clone of the Z780, but packs a wee bit of AWS love under its hood. Bedecked with T-Mobile branding and packed with goodies like Bluetooth, A-GPS, some type of camera, dual-band GSM, 1700 / 2100 WCDMA, and all wrapped in an alluring metallic green housing. Nice of Sony Ericsson to tack the TM -- which we're guessing stands for T-Mobile -- onto its set, perhaps this is evidence of Sony Ericsson attempting to rekindle a relationship after many years of nothing doing? Now that Sony Ericsson's doing its part, all we need is T-Mobile to follow suit with some fresh 3G airwaves for this to ride on. Go team. [Via PhoneScoop]

FINALLLY, It's a cry that will be heard from all T-Mobile customers/employees.
I dislike anything Sony with the exception of their BRAVIA tvs and Ericsson's phones.

more dumbphones for the soccer-mom set. now with GPS so they can have even more distractions going from home to the mall!!! sweet.
seriously, im happy that SE has returned to t-mob but they have really got to get on point with the phones they offer and 3G. they said 25 markets by years end, we're almost at the point where they will have to light up one market every week in order to meet that goal.
oh and how about that 16 phones this summer? So far, there's been about... 4? Sure there is the rokr coming out shortly but otherwise there's been very little info. now we have this phone, which will probably be a mid-range phone for them (which is good since they effectively killed most of their mid-range a few weeks ago) but other than that they've all been free phones. no new blackberrys, no new winmo devices, nothing but soccer-mom phones for months now. and considering we get the whole FCC thing a good chunk of time before they actually get released, my money says we'll be lucky to hit half that number by the end of summer.

I used to work for at&t and people would call all the time with 18 months on a 2yr agreement to say they wanted the newest phone for free otherwise they would cancel the service. It happened alot when the Razor came out. at&t is going to take the cheapest route out of any new model of any phone they introduce. Verizon is the best for phones, followed by Sprint. Good luck calling them and saying "i will cancel" they may just let you, for the full termination fee, of course!

HSDPA or just UMTS?
bachviet @ Jun 19th 2008 12:20PM
HSDPA @ 3.6 Mbps
It will be the first T-Mobile branded phone with HSDPA.
Right now T-Mobile has 4 phones with UMTS (Nokia 3555, Nokia 6263, Samsung T639, and Samsung T819).

FINALLY!!!
Sony Ericsson for T-Mobile!!!
Every time I heard about a new SE mobile coming out on AT&T, I would become extremely disappointed that I had T-Mobile, but now we're getting some of the good phones!
WOOHOO!!!
There should be a party for this! :)

This SE phone is the Bella, a 2 megapixel flip with aGPS and 3G support.
There's also the SE W760 in the T-Mobile pipeline, a 3.2 megapixel slider which is essentially a replacement for W580 and should also come complete with 3G and aGPS support. Expect to see both of these by October/November of this year.
