Nokia 1508: CDMA, and that's about it
"CDMA" and "Nokia" are two words that still don't feel like they belong in the same sentence, but the trickle of CDMA products keeps flowing out of Espoo, so we guess we're going to have to start readjusting our attitude at some point. The latest handset is the lowly 1508 candybar, lacking the style exhibited by the 1606 and 3606 flips but getting by with an integrated FM radio, speakerphone, and storage for 500 contacts and 400 text messages -- not a barn burner by any stretch of the imagination, but hey, it fills a niche. It'll ship in the third quarter to "select" CDMA markets.

cmon its kind of just like a cdma version of a 2610 no big deal

The 2610 has to be one of the worst designed Nokia "40 series" phones. That stupid "mirror" display is gawdawful to try to see the display. I'm not sure what's with Nokia designs. For a while they were churning out models with crazy-ass keypad designs (reverse circular 3650, two numbers per key 3595) and on and on.

So you say that 1xxx series or 2xxx series super low end develobing countries phones should have crazy keypads?
This phone looks as simple as it can be and should have great keypad like many of these super low end Nokia's have. Thought in a website like this we wont probally much of buyers looking phones like this ;)

Do they still release those tiny screen candybar phones? I mean this look is so 2001.

Reason might be that Nokia havent done "real" phones for cdma markets as Nokia's main market is Europe and Asia where cdma dosent really exist so they have some phones with just new shells...sometimes even not that for cdma users
Of course Nokia and all big 5 players still make phones with small screens. They are called budget phones. Nokia has huge portfolio of phones and that's why these companies like Sams, SE and Nokia are the leaders.
Example Nokia 1100 that has sold over 200 million phones(most sold electronic device ever).

All the way to Vertu and 8xxx series that are most sold in their segments and smartphones they lead by 50%.

Actually, CDMA is alive and kicking in Asia, and in China especially Nokia has nicer CDMA phones than that.

what appears to be a universal headphone jack?
mini usb?
built-in FM?
Hell, if I was going somewhere in the suburban US for an extended
period of time and the GSM coverage was poor enough to justify
another phone I'd take it.
If it were GSM and they got the crazy idea to add qwerty, I'd
consider taking using it as a main phone just on principle. I ike simple.
