Don't get us wrong, there's nothing wrong with Batman, nor is there anything wrong with
this phone (that we know of, anyway) -- we're just having a hard time saying the full name of it with a straight face. The rumored Nokia flip is getting really close to release, it seems, and Verizon's getting the party started with "The Dark Knight Edition" which will come loaded with some "exclusive" content related to the latest Gotham City thriller. With a 1.3 megapixel cam, GPS, Bluetooth, and EV-DO, it's not likely to set Verizon's retail stores ablaze with sales -- but more importantly, it marks a renewed interest on Nokia's part in bringing decent equipment to the CDMA side of the fence. Look for it to be available on June 15 for $119.99 on a two-year contract before rebate.

whats so funny about cross promotion?
Chris Ziegler @ Jun 9th 2008 9:18AM
It wasn't the cross promotion in general, but the act of referring to a phone as "The Dark Knight Edition" that got us. Come on, you have to admit that's a little funny.

I still don't get it... What's funny?

i dont get the point of promoting such a basic handset with such a huge movie release. This i think is probably the highest anticipated movie of the year. and will probably make the most money of any movie this year and they come with this basic crap. im shocked.
this should have gone with the glyde. or the lg dare. i really dont get this logic
boss-hogg @ Jun 9th 2008 10:45AM
Hey, im just happy to see Verizon is getting a Nokia. and btw please have someone else review Nokia or symbian products who actually likes them. Exp. n78 review. U should do it
Brian Hensley @ Jun 9th 2008 11:17AM
Wow. What a wildly unimpressive phone. From Nokia, yet. Those phone should be free if they are that basic. I didn't even know Nokia still made phones with 1.3mp cameras.
And a movie cross-promotion? Really? That should be popular for about 3 whole weeks.
Look like a decent first phone for a 12 year old.
seabreeze @ Jun 9th 2008 11:56AM
I agree Brain. EVERY phone should launch with a basic 5 mega pixel camera, touch pad, enterprise email capable, etc. I can't imagine why anyone might actually purchase a phone with anything less! There simply isn't a market for this phone. Those guys in Finland must be nuts! (sarcasm)
stevo @ Jun 9th 2008 12:39PM
Some people buy phones to use as phones. Why on earth do I need a 5 megapixel camera on my phone? Why do I need web access on my phone? Why do I need to access my email on my phone? I have a digital camera and I have a computer. If I needed to get my email because of work, my company would give me a Blackberry. I don't need a $300 phone with all the bells and whistles. I don't understand the movie promotion though.
Max @ Jun 9th 2008 6:54PM
The idea is that you buy a 300 dollar phone that can replace a 50 dollar phone, a 200 dollar mp3 player, a 200 dollar digital camera, and a 400 dollar backup notebook for browsing the web and checking email, and also a 150 palm device for scheduling and contacts. It provides at least 1000 dollars worth of equipment replacement in one compact device. It saves you from carrying around other crap. I don't know why I'm explaining this to you because this should all be very obvious...
QuickSe7ens @ Jun 9th 2008 2:45PM
The Dark Knight edition...ROFL...This is going to be some serious hilarity.
dan.fuchs @ Jun 9th 2008 5:50PM
It seems expensive for such a simple phone. You could save money by purchasing an enV2...
Do Nokia phones have a reputation for having strong reception? That might be the only reason why anyone would be interested in this phone
JoeyStyles @ Jun 11th 2008 12:16PM
for a phone that is suppost to be for the movie this one sucks
tra la la @ Jun 12th 2008 2:58AM
there wasn't a mention of it, but there is a bat-symbol on the back of the phone, too.
