HTC Touch Diamond boot video, for your eyes only
For those of you who absolutely, positively can't wait to see more of the Touch Diamond in action, the folks over at pocketnow are giving you a taste of what it's like to hold one in your hands. Apparently, when you boot up the phone you're greeted with a helpful video showing you how to navigate the heavily-skinned version of Windows Mobile (AKA Touch Flo 3D) that it sports. Needless to say, it's smoother than a baby's bottom. Not that we'd know. Video after the break in its full 640 x 480 resolution.

You might have to right click and Save Target As, then open it in Quicktime since it's in 3GP format.

Is this WM interface gaining on Apple's?

Maybe, but from a productivity standpoint, I'm distinctly underwhelmed.
Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but it also seems borderline unusable; every function is some kind of sliding motion, there seemed to be very little simple taps that did anything useful, and its response time seems laggy.
I hope it's like Windows XP, with a checkbox that says "disable useless special effects that slow you down".
I also hope the Raphael / Touch Pro is more productivity-friendly out of the box.

I'd still rather buy an iPhone.

"I'd still rather buy an iPhone" What is wrong with everyone and their closed minds.. the iPhone is a terrible phone and always has been.

This looks like a really nice phone. I think this might be better than the Xperia

I tested the Diamond and found some concerning issues.
The device looks amazing, that's correct, but still - I believe it has many problems.

em... this is the beginning of the end for the iphone... the final nail in the iPhone's coffin will be the devices with nVidia's Tegra.
