Well, not quite -- turns out it's just a dummy -- but
it's got to be getting close now that Circuit City locations are taking delivery. We're not so keen on the metallic finish here, maybe we'll end up warming up to it; either that, or by the time it's released our collective attentions will be squarely diverted to the
Treo 800w. You know, one of the two. Follow the break for another shot!
[Thanks, Grant]

They had the dummy centro at our local Circuit City for like 3 weeks now.

No one goes to Circuit City.

Wow! How many explitives can you fit into one tiny sentence??? Is it really that hard to convey your thoughts without using them in this public forum?
NoLimitz80 @ Jun 3rd 2008 4:46PM
Do people really care about the Palm Centro any more?
backbeat @ Jun 3rd 2008 4:49PM
Found in the $0.99, "please take this crap" bargain bin, was it? ;) Good for all the dumpster-divers, I suppose.

By the time VZW releases the Centro, it will be EOL! (end of life)
Winston @ Jun 3rd 2008 5:27PM
This looks like a bin Charlie and Frank would have found when they were dumpster diving in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

centro is a good phone. i plan on ditching mine as soon as those rumors of the HTC touch pro come true for sprint, though.

Closer and closer...a sharp-eyed contrib to Centro Spot http://forum.centrospot.com/showthread.php?t=162454&page=5 noticed that Palm support http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,CASE=44903
already has setup info for the Verizon centro.

I was at my local Verizon store on Sunday and the clerk said they already had the Centros in and they'd had a Palm representative come recently to teach them about the Centro. He still couldn't give a release date, though - said 1 to 2 months.
Miles @ Jun 4th 2008 4:06PM
1 to 2 months of training for a phone OS that has been around for 10 years!
VZW is killing me. Release the phone already!
bsbouchillon @ Jun 4th 2008 10:58PM
The VZW store you went to does not have the Centro yet. Retail representatives do not even have an official launch date yet. We haven't even received our demo model yet. Typically reps are notified of a launch about 2 or 3 weeks prior to the actual launch. Inventory is stocked at all VZW stores at the same time and we don't have them at mine. We have dummy's and oddly enough accessories but no handsets.
Waiting too long @ Jun 5th 2008 11:56PM
Hey ive been waiting for 2 months based on a rumor. I called verizon and they said maybe another month. WHAT THE HELL, how long does it take to get a phone out, theres nothing new about it.
Could you guys please keep me posted, im sick of waiting but I really want this phone.
Miles @ Jun 5th 2008 12:22AM
"Typically reps are notified of a launch about 2 or 3 weeks prior to the actual launch."
So I guess that means its not coming out until after June 15?
