Sprint posts Windows Mobile 6.1 update for Motorola Q9c
That's right, lucky Q9c owners on Sprint are among the very first in the world to get an official Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade. Feels good, doesn't it? Bask in the copy / paste functionality, threaded SMS, and Getting Started guide (which contains probably little to no information you didn't already know, you experienced user, you) while your friends are all still stuck at 6.0. Be sure to play it up; flash the messaging application at every opportunity in public situations, and just generally make them feel bad for having chosen a [insert device here] over your beloved Moto. It's okay to gloat a little at times like this, trust us.

Well, this is exciting and stuff, but...
Where the hell is the BlackJack II update?
Bryan @ Jun 3rd 2008 5:29PM
I am soooo with you on that. I have been waiting for the BJII post to show up.....

First comments get the most attention (and reads) and I'm glad this this the first comment here.
We need a 6.1 update for BlackJack II now. If anything, because there is already one --though not official-- for the original BlackJack (txcaesar.net, although I just noticed the site is down). Embarrassing.

Funny how around this time last year Blackjack I owners were screaming at at&t to release WM 6.
History repeating itself?
fyreblazer @ Jun 3rd 2008 4:17PM
Wow. Sprint is quickly trying to become a carrier for the people. Now AT&T, where's that Pantech Duo update?

Maybe the rumors that the official 6.1 rom would be coming out for the HTC Mogul today could end up being true after all. *crosses fingers*
youngcalihottie @ Jun 3rd 2008 4:43PM
a one on one in the cafeteria seems a little unprofessional lol
anthonylitz @ Jun 3rd 2008 4:49PM
Where is my update to WinMo 6 for my original MotoQ?

periks19 @ Jun 3rd 2008 4:54PM
Wait how bout the update for the touch been waiting for quite some time.
icedemon @ Jun 3rd 2008 5:02PM
I wonder if Verizon going to get one for the Q9M? Not that it would make it less sluggish. I love giving commands to this phone only for it to look back at me like I didn't tell it to do anything.
SimbaDogg @ Jun 3rd 2008 6:19PM
seriously...what is taking these providers so long to put these updates out. Didn't MS have wm 6.1 finished weeks ago? even though i'm not even running the official at&t 6.0 tilt rom, i want them to put the 6.1 out
Adam @ Jun 3rd 2008 7:28PM
i don't like windows.
Jeff @ Jun 3rd 2008 9:14PM
Ahem... AT&T??? How about the Q9H???
Randy @ Jun 3rd 2008 11:39PM
Ahhh...just dropped by to gloat a little...

I can't believe this happened. Ever since we got our phones I've been wondering whether my wife made the right choice by getting the Mogul instead of the Q9c which I got. Once the 6.1 beta came out for the Mogul I was ready to chuck my little Q9c against a wall.
Everything has changed now, though, my little electronic friend. We are vindicated! Muahahahahaha!!
champ22 @ Jun 4th 2008 8:55PM
so raise you hand if your on 6.1 yet .........ooo ooo ooo me! *raises hand*
LilTmac2003 @ Jun 5th 2008 3:48AM
Just downloaded this via Motorola Software Update on my Windows PC.
6.1 is totally awesome!
Internet Explorer has changed, with all these missing little features NOW included, such as zoom, copy and paste, setting up your home page.
Also, I love the new layout. Well done Microsoft, who knew you can have a decent update.
ashley @ Jun 25th 2008 12:00AM
Hey, how did you do this upgrade on your phone?
i've been trying to, but i have no idea how.
LilTmac2003 @ Jun 25th 2008 1:36AM
It's simple. You just download the 'Motorola Software Update'. Here is the link.
http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/motosupport/source/SoftwareUpdateSelect.asp?country=USA&language=ENS
After you've input the correct information, and finish downloading the software, connect your Q9c to your PC. Also, make sure it's fully charged, COMPLETELY.
I connected my Q with 2 bars of battery life, and after I connected, it tells me 5 minutes later, it will only work with a fully charged battery.
Once it's fully charged, launch the program, connect your Q, and it tells you what to do next.
Hope that helps.

oh lord, won't you buy me a 6.1-upgrade, my friends all got Q9-C, but I must make amends (Q9-H)

Can't sync my 2 identical Vista computers since I installed Mobile 6.1 on my q9c...Sprint made me try everything, including a hard reset and delete then add partnership on WMDC...Any thoughts???

Got the new update, but what's up with the caller i.d. only showing the name and the state of the caller? Not impressed with that.
