Verizon slide deck reveals Verizon i770, Palm 800w, fun facts

We've got a bit in here about the WiFi-equipped Treo 800w landing on Verizon in the third quarter, too, a device more frequently whispered in the same sentence as Sprint as of late. It also turns out that Big Red intends to launch a Novatel USB modem later this year that supports both EV-DO Rev. A and triband HSPA, likely becoming its first data device to let customers scream at 3G speeds while abroad. Watch out for those roaming charges, though -- yikes!
Moving on, we've got details on upcoming Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrades for the XV6800 and Samsung i760, some shots and specs of the Motorola V750 and Casio G'zOne c711 for the soon-to-launch EV-DO Rev. A PTT service, and the list just keeps on going. Honestly, this whole novella is recommended reading, so go ahead and click on that there gallery to get the ball rolling, won't you?

Wow, the i770 didnt get the GPS just like the i760, such a deal-breaker. Thank god for Verizons great service cause the selection is crap. I cant wait for LTE and an "open network". Ya right

The i770 Says VZNavigator, doesn't that mean GPS?

May release for WM 6.1 and Rev A wow, did I miss it? ;-) Though I must say this is the first close news I've heard for Verizon, and the Mogul is supposed to get an update soon. Maybe, we'll finally get something good.
However, GPS will be VzNav only, so, I'll still be flashing my phone's rom.

Is that WS on slide 5 Windows Smartphone? If so they are totally raping Verizon with data. Must be all that slingbox use.
LordObento @ Jun 2nd 2008 12:30PM
WS = Wireless Sync

Uhg, that thing is ugly...come on samsung, get better with style! ;)
Be even more terrible if VZW over-brands the firmware ;(

So does this mean no 6.1 for the xv6900? and they upgraded the 6800 without anyone noticing? heh. i'm wanting to buy a verizon smartphone and really wanted to get the touch with 6.1 on it. any suggestions?

My interest in what Verizon is releasing is at an all time low, is there any confirmation that companies are actually working with the "Any Device" program to get new phones through?(I'm looking at you HTC)

My god. VZW needs some proofreaders!
colby @ Jun 2nd 2008 12:16PM
Very interesting. Couple things:
1.) Why is "United Technologies" in each slide header?
2.) Why is their a supplier scorecard on slide 10?
3.) Why isn't anyone making note of REV A. in all markets 7/31/08, Slide 16.
The presentation is pretty poorly put together. Their are errors on several of the graphs and numbers, ie some user counts are presented as dollar values. Also, the presentation switches its dialouge between something that VZW would present to United Technologies, to something that United Technologies would present internally in a supplier review. Also note the cost per voice minute of .06.

No Diamond or Raphael..... NO CARE.
Kurt Hoss @ Jun 2nd 2008 3:10PM
"Not final" ?! I should say not. Will take them another 6 months to effectively cripple it :-)

Hhmm...says the 6800 will be upgraded to RevA and WM6.1 in May 2008.
Did I miss that announcement back when it was May 2008? Or is this Verizon's usual over-promise under-deliver pattern on devices and features?
