How would you change LG's Vu?
Lookee here -- this week's How Would You Change writeup over on Engadget Classic has an awful lot to do with the mobile realm. You know, particularly since the device in question is LG's Vu. If you've recently snagged one from AT&T, why not head on over and sound off about your experiences? It's a quick trip, we promise.

Exchange it into a HTC Raphael and make it available today!

Add an SDHC card slot so we can take advantage of 16gb cards, 32gb and 64gb cards(when the latter two come out). Add a more LG ks20 interface(the custom LG one not the WM one). WiFi.

TV on a mobile phone. No one has done it yet in the US.

You are joking, right? First off, other providers, such as Verizon, have had cellphones that allow for mobile television for several months now. The LG VX9400 comes to mind. Furthermore, the Vu most definitely does allow TV watching. I was discussing the iPhone with an ATT rep and he tried to convince me to get the Vu instead, since the iPhones are currently unavailable.
Cliffs: other providers have had tv on mobile phones for a while, and the Vu does it too, as supported by ATT.

I know the US gets dead last cellphone tech most of the time, but having a device in mid 2008 with Bluetooth 1.2 is pretty cheap/lame. Even a basic device now can stand to update to atleast 2.0, but this isn't some cheapo candybar phone. 1.2 has been around since 2003, 2.0 since late 2004, and 2.1 since last year.
Granted the adoption rate is slow and not many companies have upgraded to 2.1, but using tech from 5 years ago in you're fancy new touch screen phone? I need a new phone as my contract for the past 2 years just expired, I considered the Vu until, no WIFI and BT 1.2. My 2 year old phone has more advanced technology.
I've also yet to having any luck with pricing from att's website.

How would I change it? Put it on a network that is worth a crap. Glad to see ATT is finally getting around to full 3G rollout, 'bout time.

They are? When is it expected to be done?

Here's my take: http://tnkgrl.wordpress.com/2008/05/10/lg-vu-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly/
Basically, lots of 3G goodness and camera niceness, but that's about it! Apart from this and standard features missing from the iPhone (like stereo Bluetooth, USB mass storage, & MMS support) it's not even in the same league as the jesus phone... Then again, perhaps that's not what LG was going for?

After having this phone for 2 weeks i have to say its a very cool toy. not a phone... I'm coming from a Curve 2 that has been the greatest phone since sliced bread, but one night in vegas the phone frozen on me 11 times... cant deal with that in a phone. email is the same as if on a old razor. tv is amazing and get reception in areas i dont get cell phone service... full keyboard touch screen is cool.
the whole argument about what bluetooth 1.2 or 2.0 doesnt matter because the TV and music player play through ALL bluetooths. more phones should do this...
so as a TV amazing except in the sun light, phone okay, email bad, and any phone that freezes on me 11 times in one day in vegas while im trying to meet up with people and have fun and be on vacation goes back to the store

I'd opt for a non piano black finnish on the back, i hate smudges... outside of that, SDHC slot. Great phone otherwise!
