Griffin PowerDock 2 charges iPhones and iPods two-at-a-time
In case you're not swimming in Apple gear just yet (wait 'til the kids come...), Griffin Technology has just released a more modest solution to charging "just" a pair of iPhones / iPods or one of each. The two-port PowerDock 2 features a pair of universal docks and a collection of dock inserts to ensure that almost every iPod (and the iPhone) can get a seat at the table. It's available as we speak for $49.95.

Everyone with an iPhone uses an iPod as well, I'm sure. Good thinking, Griffin.

now if they had the feature where you could transfer songs between the two this way i "could" see this as being a good idea.

What's with the new spread of "iPhone-compatible" chargers? All the old stuff works just fine with the iPhone...

Actually some FM transmitters and most speaker systems get interference from the GSM radio in the iPhone. These new devices have magnetic shielding to prevent this. You get a popup message on the iPhone whenever you plug it into an older device. Clearly you don't have one or you would know this.
