Nokia N95-3 update released early, performance improved
Last week Nokia promised an update was coming to the North American version its venerable N95, the N95-3. But, the company played coy and failed to mention any details other than availability in "early June." We're not even out of May yet but the 20.2.011 firmware update is ready and initial reports are good. Boot time has been reduced to 19-seconds from about 30, camera start-up is now a quite snappy two seconds, support for Flash video has been added, and there's even a suite of new N-Gage game demos included in the deal. That's the sort of update we can sink our teeth into -- even if European N95-1 users have already been chewing it for months.

There are a lot of random picayune changes, like now it knows I have ATT instead of saying MediaNet and all of that, and there is a new music player visualization.
The changes appear to be "minor" but MANY.

Nokia WTF! Finally, got your stuff together and gave us NAM users a break, kudos. Hopefully this is some kind of lesson learned for the future.

Lesson? Heh. I can hear the laughter all the way from Espoo..
Now how about another one (for both the N95-3 and N95-4) with the auto-screen-rotate that was added to the -1 and -2 recently?

Hey, it's not just the N95-3 - there is also an update for the N95-4:
Nokia N95 8GB (RM-421)
Firmware Version
Current: 1.2.011
Update: 20.2.005
I'll try it now... :)

..tried updating the firmware of my N95-3 only to find out that the Nokia Software Updater has a Vista compatibility issue and it said it does not support Vista for now! Does anyone here successfully flashed their N95-3 phone using Vista (by changing their computer's compatibility with an XP)? i just don't want to force it and might end up having a brick phone! which i already did in the past.

Your problem #1: You are using Vista. Perhaps its time to put XP on, unless there are features in Vista you absolutely can't live without.
