Windows Mobile 6.1 update for HTC TyTN II now extra official
A leaky update faucet let in-the-know users get in on this one a little early, but HTC's now ready to trumpet its official Windows Mobile 6.1 update for its TyTN II to the world. Besides 6.1, the new release packs in the "display performance update" promised some time ago to help put a cap on the cursing and fist-shaking being displayed by owners of various HTC devices lately -- but as we understand it, this isn't a true driver, so don't expect miracles. AT&T Tilt folks who want to play it straight will have to wait some undefined additional period of time for their carrier to get its act together and release the update, but their European comrades can head on over to HTC's site now and kick off the download.

i know this has been brought up incessantly, but is there any update on at&t and their release of windows mobile 6.1?

There have been 2 leaked AT&T WM6.1 roms but both were pretty shitty. If I where you guys, I'd get the HTC WM6.1 rom and just install all of the AT&T bloatware on it, if that's what you're looking for. Other than that the only difference maybe build numbers.

I've logged into HTC's site but see no option for me to download under phone software updates. I have registered my phone with the site. Still nothing. Am I missing something here?

Same here, Did HTC pull the update? I don't see anything for the II except old bluetooth and photo quality patches.

The (very blurry!) little image I got to see on the HTC site showed lower/older version numbers than I see on my WM6 TyTN II in Settings! Creepy... Until I get to see positive feedback from people who have installed this update without problems and not seen any problems reported, I'm not touching this with 10 km pole I'm afraid.
