iPhone gaming aficionados -- your wildest dreams will soon be coming to fruition. Apparently, CraigX (one of the masterminds behind the
Pandora project) is also busy whipping up a physical control pad add-on for the Apple device. The peripheral -- dubbed the iControlpad, of course -- will attach to the dock connector on the bottom of the phone and wrap around the sides, and is said to provide a PSX-like feel. The pad's site claims that compatibility is already built in to popular iPhone
game emulators, and units are being sent out to other developers as well. The model pictured here is a prototype design -- but frankly, they had us at "Hello."
[Thanks, Andy]

First! I'm looking forward to this, it is sooo hard to play a lot of games with the touch screen alone. Especially fighting games like street fighter etc.

Perhaps because it wasn't originally BUILT to play games with... I dunno.
Yet another way to make the phone less of what it was made to be, and more of what it originally should have been made to be.
But that is a cool add-on, I'll give it that so as not to appear to be a troll or something.

Looks great...
(reasons are piling up... trying to pull me in more and more)
Still, waiting for the Xperia and Dream before taking any decisions...

DUDE! I have already drawn up plans for this 3 months ago!
I basically copied the PSP except with two analogs sticks and I rerouted the audio to the speakers in the controller!
He could make it soo much better! This design sucks.

If I hear Ya Mo Be There one more time I'll Ya Mo burn this place down! but seriously Iphone is not really being used as a phone for most. I know I never used it as a phone. just for the browser, great UI and the installer apps.
