HTC Touch Diamond hits the FCC
Ah -- we'd know that backside anywhere. If you were super-duper stoked about the forthcoming HTC Touch Diamond, you might want to sit down. Apparently, High Tech Computer Corp. has already sent this beauty over to the FCC, where a room is currently filled with men in white coats meticulously judging the above label placement. Regardless, this might bode well for a US release of the company's latest and greatest... don't you think? While you ponder that brainteaser, feel free to truck over to the FCC's site and get all the information you could possibly want about the Diamond's RF exposure.

They are requesting confidentiality on the docs until Aug 15th 2008. I'll bet this gets in the hands of U.S. consumers in Oct. They love releasing stuff in Oct... Hopefully the Euro version will actually have quad band a'la Touch.

october huh? damn i don't think my contract will be renewable until december. it would be cool if they released this, the touch pro, and xperia all the same month so i can tinker with them all before buying.

Wow.. looks like this will be a first for forward facing video cameras. I would bet this one wont be carrier specific in branding.. it might, but i wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt.

It is being released in the US exclusive to Sprint Nextel (who knows how long that will be?). Though if it has the right bands, you could use the unlocked GSM version for AT&T and maybe T-Mobile.

yea im hoping it has front facing cam also... the tytn ii/att tilt also had front facing cam in europe before it hit the us and they took it out.
the iphone 2 supposedly has front "sensors."
i read somewhere that us carriers dont want 2nd cams on phones cause it means we actually could use the technology for conferencing and that would bog down banddwith LAME. just get some real 3g going so we can compete with europe and geez.
