Not a fair shot at all. Just recently Verizon got the 8830, Voyager, 5800, Pearl and other before Sprint

Ari you need to do more research.
The Voyager is a Verizon Exclisive. the 5800, Pearl and others were on Sprint first. I no Sprint Fan boy, I have Verizon, I just am not a fan of their lackadaisical attitude towards updating phones.

Just to let everyone know, since I just spent the time to find out for myself. If you are already a Verizon Wireless customer and are upgrading your phone, even with a 2-year new contract, the price is $319.99 THERE IS NO $100 ONLINE DISCOUNT (according to the LivePerson Chat I just had on the Verizon website). The discount apparently is for new customers only. There is still the possibility of an Advance Phone Credit if you have a data and voice plan over a certain amount of money, so hopefully that'll bring it down to $219.99 for us return customers...anyways, hope this helps someone.

- If it's your NE2, then you receive both NE2 and $100 data credit. ($150-200 off the 2yr price).
- Secondary lines (both new and upgrade) receive a $50 data credit.
- Annual upgrade does not receive a data credit.

Bryce Your info is absolutely incorrect. I upgraded 3 lines that are all current customers and got the discount on each line.

Actually, current customers get the best deal!
-$319 for the phone
you get this price if you're a "new" customer. You are also considered new if you sign a new 2 year deal, which existing customers can do if they are elligible.
-$100 NE2 discount. You have to have a monthly plan of at least $69 or something like that) for the 3 months prior to signing the new contract.
-$100 advanced device discount.
-$50 MIR...... and you have a price of $69!
Your "NE2" type discount will only be $50 if you don't have a qualifying monthly plan.
If you already have a plan and have no available discounts, the retail price is $439.
Real simple.

I'm so undecided. I want the iPhone sooooo bad but my wife will not let us switch to AT&T so now I need to decided between the Samsung Glyde and the BB Curve. 2 totally diff phones. I want internet access so both can do it. I wanna get the curve right this second but I wanna wait until the Glyde comes out so I can compare in person. I just can't wait anymore. Anybody have an opinion on this?

I've had both in my hands. The glyde has absolutely nothing to write home about. The keyboard is actually very difficult to adjust to, very small. If the glyde was 100 dollars less, it would be a great phone. Just remember te glyde barely has enough ram to 'surf' common sites. I've had the pearl since yesterday and cannot get enough of it. The back sides have a rubber-ized feel, the keyboard lay out is a bit too close together but easy to adjust. The memory expansion for some reason makes it twice as fast in response as a pearl or 8830 out of the box...
If you're going to stick with Vzw, stick with the Curve. It does what its supposed to do very very well.

it's like comparing apples to oranges, honestly. if all you want is browser, then get the voyager or the glyde. the thing about blackberry is that they're so prevalent now, and a VERY well-known name, that people who really don't need them are getting them. I personally went with the voyager because I didn't need all the extra features (and required data plan price) that the blackberry offers. I use the browser (which I admit could be a bit faster), I use mobile email (takes a little longer, but it works), I use vznavigator... and it all works just fine for me.
if you NEED everything NOW, go blackberry. if you WANT everything, but don't mind waiting a little bit, then go with something else.
the best advice is to pick something that fits your needs now, and has the features you'll want going forward. if you keep waiting for "the next best thing", you'll wait forever.

OK, so I'm deciding on my first Blackberry, sticking with Verizon. It's either the curve 8330 or the World 8830. It seems:
Curve has a 2 megapixel camera
World has the ability to work in other countries.
Is that literally the only difference?

yeah... pretty much. Between the 8330 and 8830, mostly it's cosmetic. The only MAJOR functionality differences that I can think of are that the 8330 has a camera, whereas the 8830 doesn't ... and the 8830 can use GSM w/ a SIM card, whereas the 8330 can't.
I've seen the specs and -really- they're very similar otherwise.

This just makes me sad. Sprint once again disappoints and depresses it's customers. What is even more amazing is they don't care. I can't believe this is actually out on Verizon first. Sprint first lied about the release date of April 16, and when they couldn't meet that date they told their customers nothing. Let rumor and innuendo rule the day and saw even more customers leave. Their terrible support staff knew nothing and told whatever came to mind. Last I was told by a Sprint rep was June 1st (after she has to put me on hold) now I've heard May 7th (today) it would go out for delivery on the 9th. More lies from people who obviously have no ethics. And what is truly sad is that I've been a happy Sprint customer. Been there 5 years, never had problems with billing, the network, nothing (in fact having had Verizon and AT&T in the past I saw no real difference) and you cannot beat their $99 everything plan. With Verizon the closest you could come is $119 and that is not with unlimited calling, just 900 minutes. And it doesn't include GPS or TV. AT&T is even worse. I hate Sprint right now.

please, get your facts right. verizon $119 plan includes unlimited minutes and text. or, $119 is the premium plan with 1350 minutes.

double post-- realized you may have been talking about the blackberry email and messaging plan. in that case, you're right and I apologize for my brash reponse.
however, also keep in mind that you actually get SERVICE and SIGNAL with Verizon. By "service" I mean that VZW doesn't "fire" their customers because they call too much. And by "signal", I'll give an example:: My ex g/f has Sprint now and, the one time I had to call her, we talked maybe 30 seconds before her signal died. It took 15 minutes before she was in an area that had signal. This was in Tracy, CA, which is not exactly some podunk town in the middle of nowhere.

If you have trouble syncing a CURVE with a mac, you might have to pay the CASH for Missing Sync instead of the free pocketmac. Thus far, only missing sync seems to work. RIM is supposed to have a MAC desktop client before the year is out. I wonder, will it be for the new THUNDER Blackberry only and other upcoming OS? Hmmm..

i have the blackberry Pearl with VZW now..but i was thinkin of upgrading to the new curve..what do u think is it a better phone?
