Motorola's ZN5 captured in pictures, no blur included
Sure, you've already treated your eyes to a few less-than-stellar images of the ZN5, but this candybar just got a whole lot clearer. A handful of new images have surfaced over at KeySJ, and they take you all the way around the handset itself and even give you a look at the interface. We know, we've probably already lost you to the read link below, but if you're somehow still here, then here's your unnecessary permission to head on down and indulge. Thanks for caring.

Phone = sexy
(what i'm assuming to be) sample photos = crap
Don't they know that making a great camera phone isn't about slapping a name brand on the optics? What makes a great camera phone great is, well, a great camera. C'mon, moto, I know you can do it.
I have an N95 8GB right now. It takes decent photos (definitely better than those in the read link). I'm not even going to consider replacing it until somebody releases 5MP phone that takes *digital camera* quality 5MP shots, or even better, something > 5MP that shoot like a camera.
I wish a manufacturer would start with an ultra-compact, ultra-svelt digital camera and shoehorn a cell phone into it, instead of the other way around. That's what I'm waiting for.

I'm assuming the phone is still in the beta, testing stages. Therefore, its entirely possible that the camera isn't the exact one that will go into the production unit. Also, Chinese cities are terribly polluted, so its entirely possible that the pictures are perfectly accurate.

@Jeff -
Look at the way the image gets fuzzy (even for close up objects) toward the corners. This is a sign of poor optics. This is especially evident in the picture of (what I think is) the motorola Q. Look at the upper-right hand corner; it should be dead sharp, and it's not.
Also, examine the shadows -- there is a great deal of noise, especially for shots taken outside at a speed of ISO 80 (as indicated by the EXIF data). The particular shot that I'm looking at here is kdk_0011.jpg. This is a sign of a poor sensor.
The photos also exhibit a great deal of heavy-handed postprocessing (noise reduction / sharpening). This is a sign that Moto is aware of the poor optics / poor sensor issue.

@jeff: click on the images to see their larger versions. man, those have got to be some of the worst pictures ever!

I have a moto phone and it takes great pics for it being only a 1.3 and they are clear edge to edge so I think this one is ether in beta testing like the one other person said or that is just how it was really suppose to turn out

Motorola ZN5 made in collaboration with Kodak, the US-based famous producer of photographic and optical materials/equipment. The fruit of this collaboration is the 11.8 millimeter thin ZN5 that packs a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, xenon and LED flash video recording and, of course, Kodak lens.
but wait a minute.... no 3G??
