Blackberry 9000 release rumors swirl
Let's preface this by saying that we honestly have no idea what's going on with the hot BlackBerry 9000, but Fortune is reporting that it's delayed due to either a) AT&T concerns over call quality; b) AT&T concerns over launching a 3G Blackberry and the 3G iPhone at the same time or; c) or something else entirely. That's news to our homeboy Boy Genius, who thinks Fortune needs to start double-checking its model numbers and code names before it starts rumor-mongering, and points out that he's been on top of power-management-related 9000 delays for a while now. Testy! We're a little more inclined to trust BGR on this stuff -- the man's got a point when he says he's gotten pre-release versions of every RIM device since the Pearl 8100, and if the 9000's faster processor and 3G are indeed causing power problems, he's likely to notice. Let's just hope this all gets sorted soon -- we're ready to move on up.

All this talk and still no idea on when this device will finally come out....

I'm leaning towards this and the new iPod Touch rather than a 3G iPhone because I can't stand the virtual keyboard and when you mix an MP3 player and a phone it usually makes both worse (low storage, low battery life, etc.)... I might just go for the 3G iPhone, but if this comes out in June-July then it's this and the updated iPod Touch...

Hello engadget boys, what about your posting regarding the Nokia e71 as well?

I dont get all the hype around this phone. Aside from 3G, that phone looks disgusting. Ill keep my curve thank you very much. :)
I still dont understand why blackberry users like myself need 3G. Last I heard the new ROM coming out for that phone still uses a crappy browser. Is it really necessary to get your emails pushed faster?

It is not about getting the email faster. 3G allows for both data and voice access at the same time.
That means push emails while on the phone (important if you are handling a call/email at the same time) and interruptible tethering.
While the latter is not as important, I cannot tell you how amazing it is when I am on an hour or two call on the road and can still get my emails.
It is like getting a BB for the first time, you lived without it, however were never able to figure out how.
