HTC Android port round-up
by Chris Ziegler, posted Apr 20th 2008 at 8:10PM
Why wait for the
Dream when you can get
Android all up in your HTC piece
today? Numerous efforts over on xda-developers have yielded a high success rate in getting Google's still-young platform working (although the definition of "working" can vary from device to device) on a variety of recent and popular HTC models, so if you dig your hardware but you're ready to give Windows Mobile the boot -- and you like to live on the bleeding edge between functionality and brickage -- give it a shot. Drop us a line if you have a port to add to the list!

Yes, unfortunately Google can't legally help though thanks to Qualcomm :(

Google should just buy Qualcomm. Sell the chips as infrastructure for their desire to have an open mobile ecosystem, and put that requirement into the licensing.

That's pretty sweet, although it would be amazing if HTC put out sanctioned Android ROMs for their older models once Android comes out. Anyone know if you can dual boot? That would be the most awesome thing ever.
iFan: "My iPhone can do all sorts of cool multitouch stuffs"
Me: "My phone can dual-boot kthx!"

It'd be kinda cool if you could run it on the Universal.

not trying to flame or incite anything but the iPhone can already dual boot. Linux is being ported as well and there are talks of porting android as well :)
