Thin is in: LG shares a glimpse of its 5 megapixel hottie phone
Great news, Mr. and Mrs. Tighty Pants: carrying five megapixels in your pocket is about to become a little less obvious! The latest member of LG's storied Black Label line -- other alumni being the Chocolate and the Shine -- is starting to break cover, and for what the slider might lack in sheer visual distinction, it makes up in technical prowess. The as-yet-unnamed slider promises to be the thinnest 5 megapixel cameraphone in the world when it launches, featuring a reinforced glass touchscreen up front (just a little Glimmer-esque, if you ask us) and a shell constructed from carbon fiber. Other than that, LG's being a little stingy with details at this point, saying that it'll unveil the handset's name later this month -- hopefully along with pricing and a full spec sheet. The phone will hit Europe first with a number of other launches across the globe thereafter, finally hitting LG's own South Korea in the second half.

Unlock that bad boy and send it my way. I need something to replace my aging U600.

LG has got to stop selling 80% of their U.S. phones through Verizon and go with a GSM carrier. They've gone from laughable to desirable. Here's further proof.

Who says this is going to be for Verizon? If it's going to be launched in Europe first, it's probably going to be a GSM phone. Once again, Verizon not hooking up ANYTHING beyond a 3.2MP camera which is a Samsung; with okay quality pics. The highest megapixel LG w/ Verizon at this point is only 2.0MP. Thanks again LG and Verizon... :|

can't VZN users look forward to this phone on the new "open network"?
Korea is CDMA, and the last best hope for us in the US regarding cutting edge (world standard) hand phones.

That is honestly really, really sexy. I think this'll probably end up being my next phone.

Finally! LG has gone back to using a capacitive touch screen. Oh and yes I know this is true because I spoke to someone who's company made the capacitive screen for the Prada and he mentioned this was their next project.
