Blackberry Curve 8330 comes to Sprint
We had heard whispers about the Blackberry Curve hitting Sprint this month, and it looks like they were dead-on -- say hello to RIM's latest, the Curve 8330, all done up in black. Apart from looking way hotter than the silver version that's made the rounds, you're getting GPS, a 2 megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth, "enhanced" web browsing, and the usual suite of Sprint music and TV services. $179 with a two-year contract later this month, says Sprint. One more shot after the break.

Hopefully in a week or two I can get the black case parts on eBay for 10 bucks. Hehehe.

This hotter look plus the Sprint Simply Everything plan kicks Verizon square in the n*ts! Way to go Sprint!

Wow that is a good looking curve. Totally kicks Verizon's version squarely in the ass

BlackBerry "Darth Vader Edition". I like it. Masculine. Not like those pukey-looking Centros. It doesn't look like a knock-off of any other smartphone and reasonable price. Way to go RIM.

Wow I really do like this new color, although as to how much longer I'll have the Curve is up in the air (what with its memory problems).
That would be cool though if the case were to become available and compatible with the GSM Curve.

Are you talking about the media files wanting memory and deleting mail and calendar events with reckless abandon or something else? At least RIM offers a workaround with the media file memory...http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/dynamickc.do?externalId=KB12383&sliceId=SAL_Public&command=show&forward=nonthreadedKC&kcId=KB12383

it actually is both a CMDA and a GSM phone.
The Press Release states:
BlackBerry(R) 8830 World Edition smartphone - equipped with international voice and data roaming capabilities offered by Sprint, as well as an unlocked SIM card slot for voice and data services.
so basically anyone could buy it, and use it on a GSM carrier.
Brady @ Apr 3rd 2008 1:40PM
Actually GPDRUMMR you are talking about an entirely different phone. The Curve is 83**, you are talking about the duel CDMA/GSM 88**, the Blackberry World Phone. If that had been the case Sprint and Verizon would have had the Curve long ago. There are major differences with the World Phone and the Curve.

dammit i hate blackberry plans. i get a good deal (especially since I pay only my share on a family plan, but even if i paid the whole thing it would be a good deal) already with sprint with a palm centro.
if i upgraded to this I would be paying an extra 50 bucks/month for the same stuff I already get.
A @ Apr 2nd 2008 11:39AM
Actually your plan will only increase by $20 to $30 for Blackberry services w/ Sprint.

BlackBerry 8330 has not only comes to Verizon and Sprint Now Telus has officially announced the release date and this is because BB 8330 is equipped with best smartphone features. Waiting to see BB 8330 in my hands!!
mialkr @ Apr 3rd 2008 1:24PM
So, the Sprint version of the Curve could work on Verizon or T-Mobile's network? You can purchase from Sprint and then transfer the service to another carrier?
Bunnygirl @ Apr 26th 2008 4:46PM
Big R is right!
The 8330 + Sprint's simply everything plan + the speed of Sprint's network (we have tested, time after time, against the iPhone on AT&T's network) and the data is ALWAYS faster on Sprint's network.
This truly is a "Smart" phone...
