After what feels like an all-too-brief run on the low end of the Hiptop range, the colorful
Sidekick iD has unceremoniously disappeared from T-Mobile's retail site. We don't have any intel on whether it's gone for good just yet -- we're working to confirm -- but tell us: was anyone out there, like,
totally going to buy an iD today, only to discover (much to your horror, of course) that it had been removed? Please, do share your horror stories with us in comments while we're getting the lowdown on the situation.

Update: We've heard back from T-Mobile, and it's true -- the iD is no longer being manufactured, though if you're really lucky, we understand that you still might be able to score one from a store that has some remaining stock. Good luck, shoppers!

I work at t-mobile and my store hasnt gotten any sidekick ids for weeks because its discontinued. confirmed. maybe even the slide too. have not seen a replenishment on them either

Actually I know someone who was planning on upgrading to an ID from one of those cheap crappy Samsungs this week!!! She can't afford the $300 for a new sidekick so I am guessing I will have to help her try & find an ID or she will have to upgrade to something else because her red samsung is on its way to brickdom!! She will be pissed when I tell her!

i went to get an id from tmobile about a month ago figuring i'd break down and buy an lx or slide on ebay later. they didn't have any in stock and, after a quick call to the manager, i got a slide for $99 with $50 mail in rebate. the salesguy said they've been telling the manager to remove the display for awhile since they hadn't gotten any in in a long time.

i've been saving up for the id and today i have enough money so i go to the website to buy it.
i click cart and view my saved cart.
..NO PHONE.
thenn. i search catalog for "Sidekick"
and the only phones that come up are sidekick slide, sidekick lx blue, and sidekick lx brown.
no id.
bummer.
now im just gonna get a blackberry curve, but do you think i should go for that or the slide.

I was going to by this phone and when I went to Tmobile it was gone. From what I have found it won't be back for they want people to get the slide or lx, which I cant affoprd

Forever I have wanted a Sidekick ID, but my parents wont get my it untill im 16. I turn 16 in . . . 6 months! that makes me SO sad! How what am I going to do? I dont want no dumb slide! man!
