Carphone Warehouse floats August 2008 for Nokia N96 launch
Yeah, we know, this one's a pretty monstrous stretch, but we are so stoked about Nokia's N96 that we figured you'd be just as happy as we are to get some news -- and by news, we mean hopeful rumor. Well the folks at the Carphone Warehouse Insider page have plopped the N96 in all its black glossy glory on the watch list and the date they've set for release is August 2008. Sure, this could slip forward, back, or even get canned, but we'll take what we can get as a tentative date is hair better than no date, right friends? I noticed on GSM Arena they said that the Nokia N96 would have HSDPA 850/2100 is that right? or is that a mistake?

I really wish they had carphone warehouse stores in the states. I loved that business model.

Carphone Warehouse, that paragon of reliable specs and release dates. It usually pushes dates back a month or two, but at least we know it's coming.

I like some of the specs on this, but my N95 is big enough. An ever bigger phone? I'll pass. Design factor is great, however.

@John, please feel free to take the carphone ***house stores. They are terrible, they have the worst staff who are just flat out rude. Their telephone deals are more expensive than the local networks. Just google "carphone warehouse" and customer service and be grateful it hasn't sullen your shores
Do yourself a favour don't go near them or ANY of their services.

Best Buy Mobile is about the closest you'll get to Carphone in the US, There is some sort of partnership between them.

The site said the N96 was to be released in June for the last few weeks. It also said that we'd be getting the Nokia Prism phones way back in september but they never surfaced so don't hold your breath

You can do the same with pretty much every business, especially in the mobile industry. Mobile industry does have it's fair share of customer care issues
