WinMo 6 ROMs for HTC Star Trek bring it out of the graveyard
HTC's Star Trek can now be safely categorized in the "classic" file, but it'd be a big mistake to put this interesting footnote in HTC's history out to pasture just yet. The handset, after all, ranks among the smallest Windows Mobile phones ever made, among the only clamshells, and arguably, among the most attractive (alright, maybe that's a bit of a stretch). But with that stale Windows Mobile 5 build on there hastening its death, what's an owner to do? Turn to the wizards at xda-developers, of course, who've come out swinging with a number of different Windows Mobile 6-based ROMs for a variety of Star Trek flavors, including the Cingular 3125 likely owned by many American customers, and it's all available for download. Always fun to see new life breathed into perfectly decent hardware, ain't it?

Not WM6 for the star trek. Not many ROM cookers for this phone because for some reason it had more security for ROM images then those before it and even those after it! I sold mine because I got bored of it, if this had come a couple months sooner, I would have kept it for longer.

The XDA crew does it again, I got a WM6 rom for my Dell Axim X51v and its like a new device.....hell its better than a lot of WM devices coming out right now.
Thanks "Football", you're the man. :)

I wish HTC would make a Star Trek II with HSDPA. I would love it for a backup/travel phone for when I want something really light. Actually I would love a razr 2 with WM 6.1 for that same reason.

Thats why I picked up my 3125 recently, I'm going to San Diego and I don't want to bring my wing. I slapped on Gnat's clean rom and its all set.

yah i never understood why the bootloader was so much more well-protected on this phone than the likes of the Hermes and Kaiser. Word to the wise for people that dont flash very often: performing a superCID on the Star Trek is quite a bit more in depth than on other phones that you can just hardSPL (such as the Kaiser).
