Select AT&T stores selling refurbished iPhones?
Oh sure, Apple's been offering up a couple of refurbished iPhones on its own web store for some time now, but actually finding one in stock has proven to be quite a challenge. Nevertheless, a purported internal memo has explained that select AT&T stores in the New England region (sorry, rest of the solar system) will be stocking refurbished iPhones for $199 (4GB) and $249 (8GB) -- of course, the deal only applies to new activations. Has anyone actually seen this go down first hand? We wonder how quickly it'll be before this offer bleeds out from the Northeast.

Just think how cheap these will be once the 3G Iphone comes out and everybody starts upgrading..

New activations only? Pffft - although I guess it beats getting a "like new" one off eBay (only dropped twice).

Well, there's the $199 iPhone everyone wanted ;)
Cool, I suppose. Would almost make me go with the 8GB but after using my iPod touch (16 GB) for so long, I don't think I would be comfortable with just 8GB.

On Apple's website, the 8 GB is going for $349, not $249.

Any chance this will be coming to the NY-Metro area? I'd totally pay $250 for an 8GB. Or maybe $400 for a 32GB? I can hope!

I think i meant to say $16GB for $400. But 32GB for $400 would be amazing too.

I did indeed buy a 4GB iPhone yesterday (March 1) for $199...and they even let me do it as an upgrade! Sweet deal.
