Firm proposes "double QR code" -- we say, why stop there?
So a Japanese company by the name of Design QR had a brilliant idea: combine two QR codes to allow twice the information to be stored. Ah, but we had an even more brilliant idea: combine three flippin' QR codes. Design QR says three or more are "possible," but we turned possibility into reality by mocking one up for you. You're welcome.

If the reader can see all those dots in the smaller of the two codes, why shouldn't they just make a NEW kind of QR code with more dots of that size and store WAY more info than one small code and one large code of the same bit-dimensions? I imagine they'd have to make new readers for this double QR code anyway, so i really don't see the point...
Now, if a reader that could only see the large dots could still process THAT information without getting confused, and still glean something useful from the code (just not ALL the data present), it KIND OF makes sense, but even then that's stretching it...

Something funny that I came across the other day was a Sprint magazine ad that boasted how they have this revolutionary new phone technology called "bar codes!" Wow.
Everytime I think that our mobile phone industry is starting to catch up to Asia, something else comes along to make me realize that we're still a few years behind.
