Get your text on: Alltel's LG Scoop now available
Sprint doesn't get all the buggy, texty fun anymore. Following a preorder announcement last month, the LG Rumor has gone and morphed into the LG Scoop for Alltel in three QWERTY-licious colors: Slate, Turquoise, and Citrus. Unlike the Rumor, the Scoop features Alltel's Celltop app for rocking out with various widgets of information on the phone's home screen; otherwise, you get a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD expansion, music player, Bluetooth, and that fancy slide-out keyboard for SMSing yourself right into oblivion. Grab it now for a shade under $60 on contract after rebates.

that screen/keyboard layout seems really small and awkward to me.... Though it's great to have a qwerty keyboard for so cheap a price

I upgraded from a Motorola Razr V3C to the LG Scoop out of sheer curiosity and the "FINALLY Alltel is carrying a semi-cool phone!".
The camera is horrible..HORRIBLE! The Razr will take the pic immediately but with the Scoop one must remain still for about a second or two after you hear the "click" sound on the camera. Plus, the lighting is a lot worse...it just can't compare to the Razr..and the Razr doesn't even have flash with the camera!
Also, sometimes there is a significant lag on the QWERTY keyboard..it takes a while for it to catch up..usually having you retype whatever you have been trying to key in. You don't even have to be typing that quickly...sometimes even slow typing will be VERY delayed.
Battery goes dead very quickly..I knew this going into getting the phone (toted 180 min. talk time) where the Razr is much higher. I didn't know how this would translate in having the phone/using it daily until I tried it for myself. Probably about one day of use needs a full recharge...I could get away with 2 days on the Razr.

I use the keyboard a lot and seem to have had none of the lag your speaking of. Also, I seem to go about two days without a recharge.

I think this is an awesome phone. I am getting it in the beginning of May. Whoo Hoo. I can't wait, I want it now. My friend has a phone sort of like this, but she is with Verizon Wireless, and her phone flips open. I think this one has a lot more gadgets though.

I hate alltel.
It has crap phones.
I have a Kyocera.
Where do i even begin.
When I shut it the phone shuts off.
The pictures are horrible.
Though the positive thing is at least I have a phone even though it doesnt help me when Im stranded because it will just randomly shut off :[
I want to switch to t-mobile.

rachel... if you hate you're phone, and you hate Alltel so much then dont sit here and complain to it about us... this thread is about the scoop, not your Kyocera... so quit complaining and just switch phones and/or phone company. Besides I have the LG Scoop and so far the only thing that I have a problem with is not being able to set custom ringtones without paying and the fact that the camera is a bit slow... other than that I love this phone. Especially Celltop.
