iPhone display "bubbles" causing toil and trouble?

Jockeys riding the Apple discussion forums are claiming that their iPhone displays are afflicted with tiny "bubbles." Apparently, the manufacturing issue is recognized by Apple who will replace the phone, no questions asked. So tell us dear readers, bubbles or no bubbles, what's your experience?

I do have like 2-3 bubbles. So how can I make them exchange the phone?

I thought I was the only one who had it.

Apple DID exchange my phone for another one, but it took quite a long time, when I could have been doing something else.

I do have some bubbles although they don't really bother because they are at the corners of the screen. How can I have my phone replaced? What do I need to do?

I was in Vegas on vacation back in September when I first noticed the bubbles. I went to an Apple Store there and they were willing to exchange it on the spot. They looked like they had never seen it before, but were still willing to exchange it.

I declined at the moment, because I didn't want to be on vaca without all my contacts..

called apple today, they're shipping me a box to ship them. By the sounds of the apple forums I should be looking forward to a new iPhone. Its only the 4gb but I'm hoping since I was an early adopted they send me the 8gb. I'll report on Friday when I get it back

I have a couple bubbles on my screen. I also have a pretty big scratch, does anyone know if this will hurt my chances of getting a replacement? and do i have to pay anything for that new phone? also, is it new or refurbished? thanks if anyone knows :)

Ok, just an update, I went to the apple store yesterday after reading this article. made up a little lie. I said that i called apple support, and they said i could bring it in an exchange it because it was a known issue. They took it to the back, and... I got a new one!!! no scratch, no bubbles... and everything is back on the phone just like i had it :) i love you engadget....
