The numbers speak for themselves, Windows Mobile isn't proprietary to a set of exclusive hardware and therefore has more market penetration. The iPhone return percentage is extremely high.
I think its greater than 20%.

Win Mobile return percentage is less than 1 percent.

Much of the Microsoft's success has been thanks to playing cooperatively with other companies (mainly licensing).
