Microsoft buys Danger, Windows Mobile Sidekick imminent
Sure, the folks in Redmond didn't get their grubby mitts on Yahoo! (yet), but at least they picked up a little something for their mobile division, namely: Danger. According to news just crossing the wires, the monolithic company has picked up the Sidekick-creators for an undisclosed amount, and will subsequently fold the phone-maker into its mobile wing. Is there a Windows Mobile version of the Hiptop in our future? Survey says yes.

Maybe now you can get a text message on a sidekick within an hour....still a very juicy bit of info. A WINMO Sidekick does sound delicious....

does this mean we could see a sidekick on other carriers than T-mobile?

I thought Microsoft didn't want to become a manufacturer of cellular phones? Does this mean that they will suck all of the intelectual property out of Danger and toss out the hardware components, or may Microsoft actually put it's brand on a Windows Mobile phone after all?

Ugh...I don't really know what to make of this. I bought a Sidekick Slide to get AWAY from WinMo.
As long as they don't screw up anything with the current phone, I'll be fine.

YES thas will mean they will have Microsoft Word on it and it's going to kill em. With that being said it's most likely going to have a larger internal memory now all it needs is VIDEO!!!! I've been waiting on Microsoft Word on this thing for the longest since the 2 was out.
