Motorola CEO Greg Brown takes personal control of phone division
The drama at Motorola just keeps coming -- apparently CEO Greg Brown has now taken direct personal control of the mobile phone division in an effort to turn it around. Of course, this move -- announced in an internal email leaked to Reuters -- comes in the wake of buyout rumors and Motorola's own admission that it might spin the handset unit off. We're not certain what steps Greg plans to take now that's he holding the reins, but we might know some people who might have some ideas.[Via RCR Wireless News]

Moto needs some Razr thin touch screen phones similar to the Iphone to be competitive.

no, they need to start making phones.. cause the only thing I see them selling is garbage. My trashbin at work gets better battery life than the omg fab razr

Shut up with the stupid Razr already. That was their problem was they focused TOO much energy on one phone. All eggs in one basket if you will. They need to apply the tools they have to best what the successful companies like Samsung, HTC and Nokia are doing. They definitely have the financial and tools to do this I would think. They just don't have the right guidance/vision.

Their smartphones as of late are very uninspiring and unappealing IMHO. If they came out with a shatter proof glass/metal/rubber only smartphone with good ergonomics that would help. Also even doing a simple qwertybar WinMo Pro(not Standard) phone to rival the Treo would do it. It won't take much just start going in the right direction.
