Yes you should be very worried. Not only will they lock your phone for AT&T, but by having your serial number they will be able to deny all services and flag your account for you using "customer-supplied equipment". Big mistake.

What I found very strange though, was that the CSR requested my device's serial number... and I foolishly gave it away. I asked if they would use that to lock my phone (since I bought and have been using this device for over seven months as an unlocked phone) to which they replied that the number is only used to have it on record and to properly send "updates" to my device and that they would send a txt message when the data network is up-and-running again. Should I be worried about this as well?
