LOL! Well technically since its a Centro, I guess they really didn't bring the Treo back to T-Mobile. I never understood why they stopped selling their phones through T-Mobile. It always thought it was because T-Mobile loves WiFi and Palm hates it.

JAmerican

Comments on Palm Centro coming to T-Mobile, too?

Have you guys seen this thing at the store? First of all it's quite fuggly...and then the buttons are SO TINY that only the Generation S (that's Sidekick) would be able to do typing on it; frankly Sidekick buttons are bigger than on Centro. I hope someone (or something called a bankruptcy) will put companies like Palm with their Palm OS and Moto with the Synergy/RAZR shit out of their misery and just let them die. The OS they're loading on their devices is so behind that it's almost sickening to look at those devices. I'm a Symbian lover and looking at that OS it's light years ahead of Palm and Synergy. I'll give kudos to Microsoft for innovation and forward thinking with their OS. Yet Moto and Palm seem to be stuck in 2000 and think that they can keep pushing obsolete pieces of junk in the days where people are finally willing to fork out a full price for a kick ass devices (Nokia N series, Windows Mobile, iPhone...all in the price range of $400-800).

Matt

Comments on Palm Centro coming to T-Mobile, too?

Yes!! this would be excellent news! Despite its age, Palm OS 5 has a very large library of excellent 3rd party software. I bought a Dash this summer cause T-Mobile didn't have a Treo, and while the phone is great, I miss some of the apps from my Palm handhelds.

Also the Palm OS is much simpler than WM6, especially for a user who is new to smartphones. my old Palms also seem faster and more responsive than my Dash.

And while it would be disappointing not to have wifi on the Centro, I rarely use the wifi on my Dash since getting a data plan.

Kasona

Comments on Palm Centro coming to T-Mobile, too?

T-MOBILE WILL NOT CARRY PALM PRODUCTS ANYMORE
(warning: my spelling is awful, I apoligize, I am dutch...english is not my language)having said that;

lets get a few things straight here: on the dutch websites they only sell windows operated centro's, they are actually not called centro's, but "treo 500".
the second model is called a treo 500v, the v stands for vodafone where that model will be locked into.

T-MOBILE US will NOT carry any palm devices as they have an exclusivity contract with HTC. they are not allowed to make any deals with other smartphone companies. this was told to me by an official t-mobile corporate store representative in los angeles last week. I asked him : "then what about the blackberry? isn't that competition for HTC then?" his answer was: "those are not smartphones, those are email-devices".

so if we go by this official t-mobile store information, we will have to focus on and unlock that at&t phone fast in order to replace our good old unlocked treo 680's, 650's (and some die hard 600's:-) please correct me (or better said correct this sales rep) if you have more current information.

Palm Stuff
