There's certainly no shortage of ways to get your
YouTube fix on the go, but it looks like those options just got a whole lot bigger, as the company today launched a newly expanded mobile website that provides access to "most" of YouTube's catalog on any capable mobile device. That's quite the improvement over the version of the site that
launched last year, which was also open to any device but only provided a select few hand-picked videos. What's more, the new site will also let users log into the site and personalize things a bit and, just as importantly, users will also now be able to upload videos straight to the site from their mobile device of choice. Of course, while the service itself may be free (and even without ads, for now), all that data floating about most definitely is not, and YouTube kindly provides a hard-to-miss warning about that before you're even allowed to enter the site. If that doesn't deter you, however, you can hit up m.youtube.com and watch you productivity hit the floor.

Still can't get youtube mobile to work on my PPC 6700 running IE. It tries to run it in WMP but gives error "0X8007274D." For some reason flash videos from gametrailers.com (or is it gamevideos.com) seems to work.

New and improved and still doesn't work natively with Windows Mobile! Ha.

You need HTC Streaming Media. Hit up Howard Forums or XDA Developers for the download.

You don't need this period. You can get the Full YouTube to play in TCPMP. By full I mean www.youtube.com and search for a video in Pocket IE.
Tush @ Jan 24th 2008 3:04PM
Or you can to the ytpocket.com route, on the front page they give you directions on how to install TCPMP and flv support in it. I love going to ytpocket and it works great on my Axim.

What about blackbery support? I tried to access this site from my curve and of course my device is not supported...
impatienty waiting to watch "Why must I cry" for the 100th time...

yt pocket's method of supplying Youtube's videos has yet again been brought to "fail" since youtube has, yet again, strengthened their defenses on flv stealers.
So ytpocket is useless as of Jan 23 10pm est(around there when i tried.) Remains to be seen if the project will be tweaked yet again.
This doesn't work on windows mobile 6 stan...audio, but no video! :(

Does it work on Blackjack(2)? No.
greenlight @ Jan 25th 2008 8:08AM
Works perfectly on my dumbphone Sony Ericsson, maybe Windows Mobile and RIM are just horrible phone OSes?
I'm glad they finally added all the videos, but the quality is still crap. Please add an "european on 3G" option so I can get some QVGA MPEG4 video with AAC audio, instead of this useless QCIF h263/AMR crap.
ZooVision @ Jan 25th 2008 12:03PM
Our mobile videos are encoded with higher quality than the mobile youtube videos. http://www.zoovision.com/mobile.html
We also have a 3G higher quality test site with h.264 encodes that work great with N-Series devices. http://www.zoovision.com/mobile_zoolabs.html
Plus our videos work with the Blackjack on ATT!
Just me @ Jan 25th 2008 12:52PM
Zoovision does not work with my CDMA Touch with WM 6.0. I get a "Cannot play the file. ... either corrupted or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play."

Try the solution from myZenPlanet. It not only allows you to stream YouTube videos, but also allows you to post comments and upload videos. The Java client also streams videos from sites like Metacafe, Spike, MTV, VH1, as well as view and post comments on Flickr photos. All these on one Java client (Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones for now). myZenPlanet will enable Facebook very soon! http://www.myzenplanet.com
