iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak goes live
Those of you torn between having an SNES emulator and vibrating icons need worry no more -- a team of iPhone hackers led by the illustrious Nate True has just posted an iPhone 1.1.3 jailbreak. There are some hacker politics between the iPhone Dev Team and Nate involved, and the jailbreak is currently only for Windows users with previously-jailbroken 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 iPhones, but it's still sweet, sweet freedom. We're busy getting it up on one of our iPhones here at Engadget HQ, we'll let you know all the gory details when we're done.

any tutorial to get back to 1.1.2? I'm on 1.1.3.

Well dear friends, I'm here in Canada and tried it. Works well but removed some of my third-party icons. Had to uninstall/install them to get them back on (though some just won't work). Problem is, I can't seem to get my edge network going. Whenever I try to enter the settings, the screen goes black and takes me back to the home screen. I don't know what to do to resolve this issue.
Any thoughts?

Okay so it must be a previously jail broken phone huh? Well what if you already have 1.1.3 and it is not jail broken? Pretty much SOL? Every time I go to jailbreakme.com and click on the Install icon, it takes me to a page with a blue box and a question mark? Anyone know why? I knew I shouldn't have updated to 1.1.3, didn't do anything beneficial for me anyway.

Well I upgraded my 1.1.1 Jailbroken phone and now after iBrickr gave me numerous success messages I get the ugly "recovery mode" screen. Im in the process of restoring my phone now.

I applied this to my Touch and it SEEMED to work... but it doesn't. It removed all of my Apps except for Installer and doesn't seem to have any of the features of 1.1.3. While it says 1.1.3 in the "About" menu, the icons don't wiggle/move and you can't bookmark items to the Home screen. Also, apps wont reinstall because they dont accept 1.1.3 yet. I'd say hold off.

This is tempting but I may just stay with my 1.0.2.

Juice, you're missing out!

Am I? Shite. I hate to drop this ques on you but do you have a link for how I can easily do this? I am also SIM unlocked as well...
Mike @ Jan 25th 2008 12:01PM
Juice, at the moment there is no sim unlock for 1.1.3. I would stay with your current firmware until further developments.

I have a 1.1.2 OTB which I have never previously jailbroken and I have accidentaly upgraded to 1.1.3. I am an AT&T customer. I was wondering if there is a way to jailbreak my iPhone at the current time?
Ishdeep Bhamra @ Jan 26th 2008 8:01PM
I have an iPod touch and I tried to do this. When i brickr was done it said to go to installer and install the soft upgrade thing, i did and then i get this little message when i touch install that says "you iphone cant be upgraded" or something like that. Anybody know why, you could email me at ishdeepbhamra@gmail.com
