Nokia's 7900 Crystal Prism could be worse
Eww, it's back. Nokia's 7900 Crystal Prism is now really, extra-super official with a scheduled Q1 2008 launch for €375 (before taxes and subsidies). Besides sporting a slight redesign from that earlier pic, we now know that the 7900 packs WCDMA 2100/850 in addition to those quad-GSM bands, 2-inch OLED, and 2 megapixel CMOS camera. But really, this one's all about the look created by designer Frédérique Daubal. Yeah, us neither. "Renowned" enough for Nokia though, just not the 9.4 million pages of Wikipedia. See her "dress for tired people" after the break to see where this could have gone.

What is with all the hating on this phone, the design is a bit different and I for one find that refreshing. Also it's got OLED screen, 1gig internal mem and _matching_ headphones. Ultracool imho.

Yeah.. and black aluminum gives that nice, exclusive touch.

But it is like so many episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000. :( It's just not classy. Eye popping and designey, yes. You could also pick up some chicks with that phone. But, it is in no way on the same plane with the iPhone or even Sony Ericsson K models. It's the tower of terror, in phone form.

Nokia's 8xxx and some could say Vertu are the "classy" phones. This is agen these phones that you will hate or like like most of the 7xxx series and if it makes you feel better this and most of all 7500(same desing, cheaper and crappier quality wise) have been selling like no day in Russia and China.

I agree with frode. people need to stop hating on the design of this type of phone. its refreshing to see something different out there in an industry where it seems alot of the devices look the same.
