Samsung i900 to take on LG KS20?
Rumor has it that the phone pictured here is Samsung's i900, a phone that takes the keypadless, finger-friendly formula that's oh-so-popular these days and injects some Windows Mobile 6.1 into the equation. If true, that'd put it head to head with LG's KS20, and it's got the right specs for that particular battle with 7.2Mbps HSDPA, a 5 megapixel autofocus cam, and 8GB of integrated Flash. We'll just have to hang tight and see how this one fleshes out, but we wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it were real.

the iphone is sick. i love mine. but please no more copies of it. make something else innovative. im still trying to get over all the ipod copies.

Actually this would crush the iPhone going purely on stats.
It claims to have HSDPA, GPS, 8GB storage + micro SD,5 Megapix cam, 3.5" Screen and Wifi.
If I walked into an AT&T Store and saw both of these it would be no competition.
I hope it comes to the US.

i agree plh. going on just stats, this AND the ks20 crushes the iphone. the interfaces aren't as smooth but under the hood, there's no competition.

I think it would be a little ignorant to assume that everything of this form factor is copying the Apple iPhone. The HTC Wallaby is a GSM smartphone featuring a large colour touchscreen display covering almost the entire front face, with smoothed edges surrounding it. As with the iPhone, the simple-to-use touch interface allows Internet browsing, music listening and the installation of many other apps. The big difference, however, is that the HTC Wallaby was first sold in 2002, five full years before the iPhone.

This Samsung has much more better class and style than your stupid Iphone that riped off LG Prada
and LG Prada is the world's 4th touch screen phone on the market than Iphone is in 5th HTC Wallaby is the world's first

the orignal comment was about the style of the device. if you two read it you know. i never said that iphone was the best phone in the world.
LordObento @ Jan 16th 2008 5:15PM
Then the Original Style of this phone is based on the LG Prada. Prada was the 1st touch screen phone on the market and has the 3 buttons interface vs iphone's 1 button interface at the bottom. LG Prada/ AT&T LG Vu = to Samsung F490/ Sprint Samsung M800. LG KS20 (WinMo)= to Samsung i900 (WinMo). The only company that copies Apple's Iphone is that Chinese knockoff Meuizi or something. What innovations are you looking for? Both companies have Touch dumbphones and Touch smartphones.

After reading the original article (Italian is my 1st language), it's not 100% clear to me if they're saying that it has 8GB integrated memory and a microSD slot, or that it has a microSD slot through which it can be expanded to 8GB (and more as 12GB and 16GB cards become available later this year).

Please, the iPhone's a toy with a stunning web-browser (and an amazing UI). Still it's a gross overstatement to call it a true smartphone. Give me Windows Mobile anyday...it may not be as pretty but it packs infinitely more functionality under the hood. Took me only a day of using the iPhone to realize it wasn't up to snuff unless you were a casual user (nothing wrong with that). But it's comparing a pretty and flashy moped to a crusty dirtbike...that dirtbike will go places, do things the moped could never pull off. Still no comparison unless you prefer blondes ;-)
