Hands-on with Sony Ericsson's W760

Of Sony Ericsson's three handsets launches today, the Walkman-branded W760 holds the most promise of landing over here thanks to its healthy dose of HSDPA in all the flavors we love. This slider is definitely well put together and felt rather hefty -- in an altogether pleasant way -- while we played with it during our brief visit this afternoon, though we could definitely find some room for improvement for the keys on the front. Nothing mind blowing, but we like the addition of GPS, the slider keypad is top notch, and being able to control the preloaded racing game by just rocking the phone, well, rawked. We're hoping we'll have some provider news in the near future, but until then, enjoy the gallery.

If its 3G, where is the forward facing cam?

Doesn't run UIQ, does it?
Don't have to have the Front Cam for 3G.

Ah! Of course, right after I get the W580 they release this.
Now I'm all full of gadget lust again.
Plus, AT&T can't seem to get me a W580 with a functional keypad...

accellerometres are all the hype thesedays...
the full tri-band 3G is for downloading music quickly. Take a 320kbps song at 7 minutes so that it's 13.5Mbs, that'll take you only two steps or a double take for the download to finish, theoretically, but with Rogers Wireless here and Canada and my SE K850, it took a bit more then 5 seconds... :/ which probably means their '3.5'G service with 3.6Mbps download speed is still capped at 1.8...
BTW, yes, this phone is running UIQ3.

i was all set to put this on my "must have" list until i noticed there was no flash and auto-focus. sony ericsson makes awesome phones. in fact, i'm hard pressed to use any other kind of phone, but dangit, i got spoiled with the W810. i haven't phone a better phone for under $400 since.
