Use your Windows Mobile 6 device as a cheapo wireless router
The Internet brings us yet another use for a Windows Mobile 6 device to amaze your friends and confound your enemies, a wireless router on the cheap. Simply install the freeware / donation-ware WMWifiRouter software on your Windows handset and you -- plus friends and family -- will be surfing with it as your new router in minutes. Of course, as with any semi hack, a bit of reading is required, but if you hit up XDA Developers forums you're sure to glean all the knowledge required to get this working. We've not had a chance to check this out so feel free to drop us a line with your mileage. Oh, and if your mobile data plan isn't of the unlimited variety and doesn't include tethering, you may want to pass on this.

Not just a cheapo wireless router.
A personal wireless gateway, comparable to the cradlepoint personal hotspot (without the need for an external device) ... so you can use it as the wifi access point for your Nokia N800/N810, or your iPod Touch, or other wifi enabled PDA.
As much as I don't like Windows, this actually makes a WinMo phone into a reasonable prospect for me.

This works really really well. Had it installed since last month and was a life saver on my road trip to fl.
It takes a little reg editing but it was fairly easy to set up and use. Im using this on my mogul with unlimited data and no problems from sprint so far.
Only downside is that ull be using the wifi on the phone..so it kills the battery rather quickly. Still with this hack, who needs their "braodband" laptop cards with extra monthly fees. Finally putting that unlimited data to good use.
P.S. tried to download a file that was about 5mb 2 nights ago...speeds ranged from 235-410kbps for me.

I use this all the time when I travel. I laugh in the face of $10/day internet access at hotels and airports!

it's cool, its works well and the latest release works straight out of the box if only until april.
User beware though, this is insecure with not way of stopping other people using your data connection. Any dodgy sites they access will be traced to your IP address and thus your phone number. Scary stuff eh.
Unless someone can tell me how to limit Ip allocation to one IP address only.
