LG Rumor fix no longer a rumor
PhoneNews is reporting that LG and Sprint have now officially released a firmware fix for the Rumor's glitches, hopefully putting to bed any availability issues that continue to plague the inexpensive (and apparently quite popular) QWERTY piece. The update should be available over the air without the unnecessary drama of rolling into your local Sprint store, too, so let us know how it goes, Rumor owners, k?

Info from Lg, not "rumors" from sprint biased or anti-sprint people, actually points to a malfunction from the actual hardware. Details on an issue where LG recieved a large amount of defective microphones that were used in the manufacture of a few of their phones, the RUMOR included, so LG stopped distributing them until the malfucntion was corrected. The phone wasnt pulled from the stores, they did just sell out of them. They were all notified that the rumor would be on hold until mid to late january due to the hardware issues. Not to say the firmware wasnt needed, but it did not affect as many of the phones as some recent articles have meant you to believe. The Black rumor was never flagged, just the white one. One of the local stores near me just recieved a small amount of black rumors for sale. The lack of stock on the Black rumor was just due to more than estimated sales. The white rumor was the on on the assembly line affected by the microphone malfunction

Hi,
Does anyone know what will happen if the battery dies during this update?
Does it wipe or change any applications I have installed, or my data/contacts?
How big is the file that it will download, is there enough room on the phone for that?
How long will it take to run this update and can I use the phone during the update?
Thanks,
Ronen
