Will it have better Enterprise support? A better way to program to it (SDK)? Whether they will have a decent way to get music onto the device? A REAL web browser, and GPS enabled maps?
I remember reading somewhere that WM7 will have the new PIE6 running with real HTML browsing like the mobile Safari and if Engadget is "asking" if this is WM7 then I'm pretty sure it is since they've known about it for a while and couldn't/can't talk about due to confidentiality agreements with Microsoft. All I have to say about this is sign me up...can't wait for this to come out and with Apple releasing an SDK for the iPhone in a month...it can't come out any faster.
