X-SIM II claims to unlock some iPhones, looks way sketchy
If you're ready to drop 45 bones on a tricksy SIM from a back-alley internet joint called One-Stop-China.com in the hopes of unlocking an iPhone, then behold the X-SIM II. While not hardly the first SIM-based unlocking effort, this "Turbo SIM" (or so they call it) won't work in Germany, UK, Australia, but it will supposedly free up an iPhone running v1.1.2, and bootloader 4.6. Caveat emptor (as if we really had to tell you).

Let me be the first to post on this SIM Unlock type product. I purchased this exact same SIM solution and was saddened to find out that my $50 +$20 Shipping was wasted as it did NOT unlock my iPhone 1.1.2 OTB.
I tried it about 20 times with one successful call made (mind you my phone never showed T-Mobile it said No Service) but the call was able to be made once, and then wouldn't work anymore. Upon ejecting the SIM card combo about the 20th time the card got stuck and crumpled rendering it certainly unusable.
After returning to the eBay listing that I purchased this SIM solution from I found about 4 new NEGATIVE comments saying that the SIM card didn't work for them and that the buyer would not answer their emails.
After this fiasco, I purchased a StealthSIM and upon the first entry into the iPhone it worked flawlessly.

Well this beautifully written notice on the website sure does re-assure me!
"And please alert that that's not the exact solution of
unlocking the phone, it's BY- PASS the SIM checking
of the phone. For example, there is an locked AT &
T iphone, and of course, else of AT & T SIM card,
the phone cannot work on any card else. So,
when the user want to use the own card, it needs
to put the own card into that X-SIM II card slot,
then, put to the iphone. When iphone detect the
card, that X-SIM II would BY-PASS the checking
to determine if there is AT & T or not, then, the
iphone would still work with the user's own card.
So, the conclusion is that the iphone is not really
unlocked, it just BY-PASS the SIM checking &
let the iphone to work on any SIM card."

I received from somewhere in China what looks like an exact twin of the device in your photo. Although it came wrapped in toilet paper without a word of explanation, it works lke a charm in my 1.1.2/4.6 iPhone on the Swisscom network. Not a single problem since Xmas day.

You might want to retract that statement that this X-SIM doesnt work in Australia. Before going back to Brisbane, Australia at Xmas, I purchased an iphone, week 47 in Hong Kong, and it came with one of these. After modifying my Australian Vodafone SIM, it worked seamlessly on the Voda network and even allowed GPRS.
I dont know if its reprogrammable, but seems to work just as good as the Bladox TurboSIM.
Cheers,

There are two newest types of X-SIM, X-SIM can only unlock iphone wich locked by at&a in USA, but X-SIM Pro can unlock which locked in USA, UK and Germany. I just found these new things on www.totobay.com, X-SIM is cheaper than Turbo SIM card, click the url to check it out:

I've been using the TurboSim in my iPhone 1.1.2 since mid-January on the Rogers network in Canada. Works like a hot damn! No problems whatsoever.
