Sony Ericsson Z660 looking more legit than ever
It's still bearing the now-famous "SE123" designation of a true Sony Ericsson prototype, but this slim flip -- allegedly the Z660 -- is looking more real than it ever has before and should do a halfway decent job of silencing a few naysayers (convincing folks that this is a good looking phone, though... well, that's another matter altogether). Unlike the last spy shot we saw, it seems that the Z660's exterior has been done up in a brushed metal of some sort, lending a small sliver of legitimacy to the premium price this model will likely command. We'll still withhold final judgment until Sony Ericsson says it's good and ready, but we're a little more encouraged now by the way this thing's shaping up than we were before.

now if only they could exchange that cr@ptastic proprietary sony memory stick for a microsd, i might actually seriously consider buying it.

The K850 accepts both, so it's possible this one might as well. Their form factor is virtually identical so there isn't really a reason why it couldn't. I don't see why people complain so much about the M2 sticks so much. Yeah you have to buy them off ebay or Amazon, but since when is point and click ordering that much of a hassle? I'm no fan of Sony proprietary anything, but considering all major phone makers are supposedly moving to a unified flash memory format in the next two years anyway, I'm not really concerned about it in the meantime.

That would be fantastic if it would accept both like the K850, but I'm not holding my breath given SE's history with flash memory.
If the major hassle would be having to buy a memory stick from the internet, it would be a non-issue. The usability of the memory stick comes into question when you have to lug around an adapter because none of your devices or your friends' devices are sony.
On that same note, I could harp on sony's proprietary connector for hours.
I'm looking forward to the unified memory format, but once again it means having to buy all new memory cards... and 2 years is a very long time in the mobile industry.

Hi :-)
I am the original poster of this picture at my blog, and am wondering why JUSTAMP is credited, when Maximus there had nothing to do with it?
Regards,
Michell.

Michell,
Thanks for the question - we discovered the picture via Just Another Mobile Phone Blog, which is why they are credited as a "Via" site. If you click on the picture of the phone or the Read link at the bottom, it leads straight to you.
Cheers,
Chris

HELLO!!! You can buy M2 micro memory cards on SonyStyle.com or by going to a Sony Style store. Now they go up to 4GB and the 1 gig has a lower price. Also check to see if they have free shipping;that is the best time to buy. I have a W300i which I love, but looking for AT&T/Cingular to roll out a 3G Walkman phone. I don't see that in the pipeline as of yet. Like the W580i,but still EDGE,which what I have now.
