Alright, now don't everybody go crowding the entrance to the Verizon store at once, y'hear? We just know you've all been waiting with bated breath for Verizon's version of the
Palm 755p -- you know, the one that
launched on Sprint like seven months ago -- and it looks like we might finally see a release in the not-too-distant future. We've gotten word that the oft-delayed Palm OS Garnet device has finally passed through Verizon's rigorous testing regimen, so we'll hopefully see it on shelves before too long -- hopefully before another head
has to roll. Check out some shots, why don't you?
[Thanks, anonymous tipster]

The next Treo needs...
1) WiFi
2) GPS
3) 320x320 or more
4) A brighter LCD (I don't care about pixels I can't see)
5) A faster processor (mobile 500+ Mhz chips are cheap now, why don't we have them?)
6) A LiPoly battery option (yeah, it might explode...but the iPhone has one. i'll risk my life for a longer battery)
7) An accelerometer (screen rotation might be unnecessary, but programs could tell if the phone was in a pocket based on movement).
8) Fax support (sending a fax should be as easy as a text message. the freakin' cell modems in the phones already support this)

If Palm doesn't want to change the Treo form-factor. Then make the TX line a phone and use the whopping 3.8" 480x320 screen. Doesn't take a genius to see that the Treo is just too much of a brick. Not only that, its been the same form-factor since the Treo 600. Wow the antenna makes a really big difference.

Very cool. It took forever but it's done. I hope this means a fast track on approval for the Centro. It's essentially the same phone, slightly smaller and MUCH cheaper.

Email app looks very different? I have a 755p with Sprint and the email app definitely doesnt look like this. Has chattermail finally arrived on Treo devices? looks more like a mix of versamail and chattermail.

It's the standard vanilla Palm Mail app, the same as it looks on my Verizon 700p using the Verizon push mail.
