Nokia goes retro with new wired headsets
Perhaps the sleeper of this week's announcements out of Nokia's aptly named Nokia World event, the WH-600 and WH-700 headsets kick it old school by eschewing Bluetooth for good, old-fashioned, reliable wires. They've got all the bases covered, too: the WH-600 goes on the ear while the WH-700 is a traditional bud style, offering three different cup sizes in the box. Both can be used for music and calls alike -- obviously -- and include 3.5mm jack adapters for use with any ol' music player you like. Get them both starting in January; €65 (about $96) for the WH-600 and €50 (about $74) for the buds.

Once your phone uses 3.5mm what's the point of making these? I think Shure & Bose have got you covered.

wired headsets from a cell phone manufacturer? say wha? forget about the fact that these won't work with most nokia phones, as most don't support a 3.5mm adaptor, they're kind of pricey when the moto s9 BT wireless earbuds are going for less than $75. Plus, any phone that will be compatible (3.5mm) should have stereo BT anyway.

I love my S9. I use it when I exercise, but when I'm on a plane I need wired.
However, my Shure (w/ microphone) work just fine for me.

Cool. I prefer wired to bluetooth headsets. I don't like sticking a radio to the side of my head and just trusting that there's no long term effect.

...so you make 100% of your cell phone calls using a wired headset?

I personally like wired headsets much better. I just bought Shure earphones, since I get them at cost they weren't too expensive. The fact that I am using them with a N95-3 sucks because I would have purchased the WH-700's, ugh.
Maybe I will still buy them when we get them since we are a Nokia distributor and I pay cost. Thanks!

wtf? no serious, wtf? rediculous prices. who needs this anyway if its 3.5? i can buy a bluetooth headset at fry's for $19.99.
they must have some kind of internal goal for the # of products released per year or something. because this is random. its the end of the year. and these would be simple to just pull out and put together quickly for a sleeper announcement.
