After a few days of investigation, it looks like Motorola and T-Mobile have figured what was behind that
nasty Sidekick Slide bug that caused the devices to shut off when flipped open. According to our friends at Moto, the root cause was "a minor issue relating to the battery contacts," and a solution is being tested right now and should be available by next week, when Slides are expected to go back on sale at T-Mo stores. A speedy resolution, to be sure, but we're still amazed a bug like that got through in the first place.

Too bad Moto didn't get this one right - even without the OFF problem, one can only hope for durability like the Kyoceras...

I thought the sidekick was the best thing in the world until the LG Voyager came out on Verizon wireless. I have always been a verizon person, and always will with this touchscreen and qwerty keyboard here! Plus the sidekick is so fatty now...

yeh i was one of the ppl with the f'd up slides i was really pissed, then i heard that they were trading the deffected phones for the lx and i really dont like the lx cuz i think itz ugly so i wated till today and went to change it after my phone resetted for the 3rd time, i was pissed and the t-mobile dealer already had the new slides =) so i got one of the new ones and flipped it up and down over 100x to make sure it worked lol i was happy.
ps it comes with a better holster with a plastic clip instead of all leather, and they decided to be smart and even put the screen protector this time around =) the phone is really good and has great service stop hating ppl!!
