We'd heard that AT&T wanted
its own LG Shine in stores before Thanksgiving, and it looks like those hopes and dreams are coming true. A tipster hooked us up today with this shot of a Shine in all its AT&T-branded glory chilling in one of the carrier's brick and mortar stores, suggesting that they're already ready to buy if you happen to be near a store that stocks 'em -- if you've got $150 (after $50 rebate) and a signature on the dotted line to spare, anyway.
[Thanks, anonymous tipster]

It's lovely that AT&T and LG are now bffls, but seriously, $150 for that? Methinks not.
Also, was I the only person who thought the scroll wheel-thing on the original Shine was cool? This phone looks too ordinary.
I'll just wait for the Vu.

There were a lot of complaints about the scroll wheel on the original Shine, so they must have replaced it with a more responsive joystick.

You do realize that the CDMA Shine clamshell that Verizon sells is $179.99 right now after a $50 MIR and has been out for months. I think $150.00 is reasonable for a HSDPA phone housed in metal.

Just because the CDMA shine sells for that much (btw, it's just Shine in reference, this one's a slider, the other, a flip) doesn't mean it's worth it. Like you said, it's a "HSDPA phone housed in metal," I don't think it's reasonable to pay $150.
The phone really doesn't stand out besides the fact that speaking on it during a lightning storm will be much more dangerous.

But $399 for a garbage 2G iPhone is worth it? Less more, $599 when launched. People are so slow sometimes. What's special about the Motorola V9 at $299? Nothing! $150 is a great price for fashion slider with more features than everyones beloved iPhone that can't record video or send/recieve MMS.

the phone has a real good weight to it. seems real sturdy. nice screen and layout. the picture doesn't do it justice. brushed aluminum casing. 2 meg pixel camera with flash. xm radio, 3G, mp3 player... it does a lot!

They do carry a LG vx8700 which is a EVDO Shine clamshell. That is the phone I was taking about.
