Why hello hello Mr.
M800, thanks for
officially joining the QWERTY party. Hot on the heels of their
X800 launch comes the keyboard totin' M800 sharing most of the same goodies included that 2.8-inch, 480 x 640 (VGA!) touchscreen. If you love WinMo 6 Professional powered by a 500MHz Samsung S3C2442 CPU and riding atop quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, tri-band UMTS/HSDPA data, SiRF Star III GPS, WiFi b/g, Blutooth 2.0+EDR, and a 2 megapixel camera then this is about as good as it gets. Someday, as no price or ship date is mentioned, although it's listed on Expansys for $750 unlocked. A few more shots after the break.

It's godlike. Why, oh why, am I stuck with CDMA?

An absolute gem, perhaps the pinnacle of the windows mobile platform. This would have been a dream machine 8 months ago. In a post Iphone and upcoming Android era, I would never take this phone on board unless the promised me or indicated that there was likely to be an android software update for it. Frankly I have tasted the better ui fruit and I want more. Speaking as a long term windows mob fan (since the beginning of the orange spv range), I hope that they look beyond the current win mob clunky interface and problems.

Grant's comments are interesting.
I am a new WinMob user and a long-time UIQ user (Symbian). I am not a fan of S60 at all, but when I look at the beautiful screen of a Nokia I see the only blemish on my HTC/ ATT Tilt.
A nice VGA screen would fix that.
Re the WinMob interface. Well, you can customize quite a bit and pretty much make it your own, but I am surprised at how much some of the major developers stick to what I'll call a squeezed desktop interface - as if miniaturizing the PC desktop is a workable solution for a device I attempt to use whist driving.

Looks like it is using SPB Mobile Shell out of the box. Very interesting. For years, third-party software developers like SPB and SBSH have been selling programs that include features that SHOULD have come standard with WinMo. I like the idea of packaging some of these programs with the device right out of the box, and kudos to SPB if they really did land a deal like this.

the crowning glory of winmo QWERTY keyboard devices.
touch screen smart keyboard is oh so much nicer than a dumb hardware keyboard.

Only thing it has on the Kaiser is VGA, SiRFIII, and FM. Otherwise, it's hell ugly and lacks ram.
Pick your poison.
stracenska @ Nov 16th 2007 8:47PM
Anyone seriously considering any of e-ten's phones should visit their forum. the glofiish line, particularly the x800 is plagued with problems. non-transflective screen is unusable outdoors, lack of ram causing random power-offs, terrible camera quality and horrible customer service. But don't take my word, do the research yourself at eten-users.eu/
RobertI @ Nov 17th 2007 9:14AM
If there's anything I can't stand is horrible customer service, high end apps/gizmos that requires lots' of on-board ram, and a lack of ram. A perfect receipt for disaster. I thought I'd invest in this over the Kaiser 120, so I read the specs, went to multiple forums on different sites, and decided to go with the Kaiser after all. The very last thing I want is to have a brand new spanking device that's faulty and have horrible customer service, especially during the holidays, lol. Ba hom bug, lol.

Um, am I reading this right. The GPS data updater is NOT supported in the US for the M800...? Atleast thats what the online user manuel says.
