no wonder japanese consumers dont buy Made in USA or any other country crap.....we will never get 3 inch display on flip phones.. never... these phones are way better than anything i saw from sammy or nokia

Actually, Samsung does some nice stuff in Japan. The difference lies in what the carrier decides to allow. Take the chance to compare the a717 and the 706SC. They're the same phone on the outside (well, there's the fact that the a717 comes only in black vs the many colors of the 706SC)- it's the Softbank firmware vs the AT&T firmware that makes all the difference.
