It looks to me as if Google has taken some nice first steps here - I really like the look, and although I doubt it'll be as responsive as it was in the video released with the SDK announcement (it'll depend on the hardware, of course), it was moving a lot snappier than anything I've run on any smartphone I've owned.  Maybe on par with my Treo 650 from back in the day.<br><br>In my opinion, the beauty of Android is what I expect will be a multitude of functional third-party apps that people won't need to jailbreak their phone to use.  And I think it's *likely* that even if those apps fail to materialize, Android will play nicely with all of Google's apps.
