We've been hearing about the Q9h coming out on AT&T in months' worth of leaked memos, but now we can finally put it to bed. On sale tomorrow November 2nd for a surprisingly low (and temporary) price of $200; you get the following.
Windows Mobile 6 (duh)
HSDPA (not sure yet if it's 3.6Mbps)
GPS with TeleNav, 2 megapixel camera
Good 5, Express Mail, the standard software package
- It has Opera 8.xx (cant remember exactly) with multiple open windows at one time. IE is nowhere to be found. -It sure seems to have 3.6 HSDPA, because it is the fastest internet I have seen in ATT's stable, including the tilt. -There is a button for everything on the front. -GPS built in! -Loaded with programs. -MOTO is running a deal where you can get several programs including worldmate for free for a year. -Sure its wider, but when you see the HUGE screen, you should forgive it.
Ok I just picked mine up today from the local AT&T store. It is far from slow, in fact it is much faster than the Blackjack that it replaces. The built in GPS is very cool and works brilliantly with the new Windows Live mobile client that includes voice recognition. I love this phone already but the screen is a tad grainier than i'm used to.
I gave up waiting for the WM6 update to the Blackjack so AT&T's plan paid off, I gave up waiting and gave them more of my money.
We've had this phone in our store for about a week now. It comes with a standard and extra capacity battery just like the Blackjack.
It no longer has a jog dial on the side which is really annoying. It includes Opera and Explorer installed and Opera does allow multiple windows.
The price is currently $299.99 after a $50 MIR but on 11/4 a new rebate is coming out making the device only $199.99 after a $150 MIR which requires a data plan for $39.99 or higher or unlimited text messaging for $19.99.
With HSDPA 3.6, wifi isn't really as much of a necessity as it is with the iPhone. And that spec sheet is just a marketing promotion, so it wouldn't have all the features on it.
Actually the Q9H is not slow it is more like midrange to fast speeds because moto did something smart if you dissect the phone it has two processors in it one for phone usuage and the other for software and their both running at 333 mhz each, which the last time i check no other pda/smartphone has done yet. For myslef i am actually pleased with the phone it does everything i need it to do like it has document2go so i can edit attachments, email (soon to be blackberry connect), and media (xm,CV,Mobi TV)
the best BUSINESS TOOL plus voice-phone ever... very pleased with mine... use to have the european version... now with the US version just kicking some bbrries... as..es!

HUGE screen? You're on crack. The screen covers only like 30% of the front of the device. That just won't cut it anymore.
