Hands-on with Sprint's BlackBerry Pearl 8130
Happy day, we bumped into Sprint's BlackBerry Pearl 8130 this aft at CTIA and not surprisingly it's a lot like the other Pearl we all know and love, but in a richer, smoother CDMA flavor. We dig it -- as we do all of RIM's creations -- in a business handset kind of way, and thought that some pics would make somebody happy before they head on down to pick one up -- once they hit retail in November, that is. OMG. Its sooo hot. So glad it doesnt have the black sides. And cant wait for the new BIS plan!

The extra Blackberry plan kills it for me, since push email is not enough for $30-40 more.

It looks nice but I'm really hoping this only the beginning of more to come...specifically the Curve! BB Curve on Sprint would/will be IDEAL!!

Anyone know if this will have MMS? I'm not talking about receiving pictures, but being able to send them to phone numbers like a regular Sprint phone, not typing in an Email address.

Yes It will have MMS. Just like the previous Pearl.

Well that was GSM, Plus Sprint never has MMS on any of their phones but Palm OS's... So that's why I didn't know. And this is our (Sprint's) first BB with a camera so that's why I'm asking..

Yes it is but it has Sprint TV Sprint Music store and the BIS plan comes with email internet unlimited text messaging and free telenav for only $30! I am hooked!

It's GPS. Like the 8830. VZW might cripple it a little and make you pay monthly for Navi-software such as TelaNAV or something.

Wow, its a real tossup between the Touch and this one. This one is all phone, the Touch is all PDA.

The Pearl is going to be sold w/ a $29.99 BB data plan instead of the usual $49.99 and the BB Curve is coming to Sprint sometime in February.

I have one and can't stand not having MMS feature, when RIM has it built in and Sprint just blocks access to it.
